ACK sends two types of notifications to keep you informed about cluster activity: system event notifications and monitoring alerts. Configure contacts in advance so that critical notifications reach the right people.
How it works
ACK delivers notifications through two independent channels:
Message Center (https://notifications-intl.console.aliyun.com): Delivers internal messages, text messages, and emails. Manage contacts on the Message Center - Manage Contacts page.
Alerting channels: Deliver text messages, emails, and chatbot messages. Configure alert rules, contacts, and contact groups through alert management.
Each notification type is routed through a specific channel:
| Notification type | Description | Channel |
|---|---|---|
| ACK system events | Events generated by ACK clusters. Sent to your account contacts by default. If alert configuration is enabled for a cluster, system events are also delivered to Event Center and forwarded through alerting channels. | Message Center (and alerting channels, if enabled) |
| Monitoring alerts | Alerts from the ACK O&M monitoring data pipeline. | Alerting channels only |
Supported message types
ACK supports four message types. The available configuration path depends on the message type:
| Message type | Description | Where to configure |
|---|---|---|
| Internal message | Delivered to Alibaba Cloud Message Center. | Message Center - Manage Contacts |
| Text message | Sent through official Alibaba Cloud carrier channels. | Message Center - Manage Contacts, or the Alert Contacts page in the ACK console |
| Sent through official Alibaba Cloud channels. | Message Center - Manage Contacts, or the Alert Contacts page in the ACK console | |
| Chatbot message | Supports DingTalk, WeCom, and Lark chatbots. | Alert Contacts page in the ACK console |
Chatbot addresses must use the following prefixes:
| Chatbot | Address prefix |
|---|---|
| DingTalk | https://oapi.dingtalk.com |
| WeCom | https://qyapi.weixin.qq.com |
| Lark | https://open.feishu.cn or https://open.larksuite.com |
Configure contacts
System event notifications
System event notifications are sent to your account contacts by default.
Add contacts: Go to Message Center - Manage Contacts to add contacts and set the notification types they receive.
Configure message receiving: Set notification methods and recipients for different message types. See Manage basic message receiving.
Monitoring alerts
To receive monitoring alerts, set up contacts and contact groups in the ACK console.
Contacts and contact groups
Contact: A notification recipient with one or more contact methods (phone number, email address, or chatbot token URL). When a contact is active, notifications are sent to all its configured contact methods simultaneously.
Contact group: A collection of contacts. A contact must belong to at least one contact group to receive notifications. Contacts and contact groups have a many-to-many relationship — the same contact can belong to multiple groups, and the same group can contain multiple contacts.
If no default contact group is configured, ACK automatically creates one named Default Contact Group using your Alibaba Cloud account information.
Steps
In the ACK console, go to Alert Contacts in the left-side navigation pane.
Create contacts or contact groups using Contact Management or Contact Group Management and follow the on-screen instructions.
Use an event subscription to associate contacts or contact groups with specific notifications. See Enable alert management.
