This topic introduces logtail-windows, including its usage notes and release notes.

Introduction

logtail-windows is a container log collection plugin for Alibaba Cloud Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) clusters. You can use this component with Log Service to collect logs from your Windows containers.

Usage

You must manually install the logtail-windows component. For instructions, see Collect logs from Windows containers.

logtail-windows v1.0.x: This version is compatible with all Windows worker nodes. However, versions v1.0.20 and later do not support worker nodes running Windows Server Core, version 1903. You must adapt your workloads for the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) and use worker nodes with Windows Server Core, version 1909 or 2004. For instructions on how to manually install logtail-windows v1.0.x, see Install Logtail v1.0.x on Windows nodes.
windows.alibabacloud.com/deployment-topology=2.0windows.alibabacloud.com/deployment-topology=2.0: This version depends on a privileged proxy process on the Windows worker node. Its image size is 90% smaller than the v1.0.x image, resulting in faster startup times. This version is only supported on Windows worker nodes that were created from a node pool with the label already applied. If you add this label to a worker node after its creation, the node will not support logtail-windows v1.1.x.
