View resource usage

Updated at:

View the actual vCPU, memory, and disk resource usage that Agent Sandbox generates within a specified time range to analyze usage trends and estimate costs.

Background information

Resource usage refers to the actual vCPU, memory, and disk usage generated within a specified time range. The data comes from final metering results and is used to analyze usage and estimate costs.

Resource usage is an additional capability that Agent Sandbox provides beyond the E2B SDK. The data is not returned through SDK operations.

Resource usage is not a real-time monitoring metric such as CPU utilization, memory utilization, network traffic, or the number of concurrent requests. To view real-time performance data and the sandbox count by Quality of Service (QoS) class, see the monitoring dashboard.

Usage notes

Resource usage is displayed in Cost Center. Select a time range and view the cumulative usage and the daily trend by Region, Team, Template, and QoS.

Resource usage is aggregated by Team, Template, and QoS. Usage details for individual sandboxes are not provided.

Resource usage types

Resource usage

Unit

Description

Active vCPU usage

vCPU·h

The actual vCPU usage that a sandbox generates while it is active

Light hibernation vCPU usage

vCPU·h

The actual vCPU usage that a sandbox generates while it is in light hibernation. No vCPU fees are charged.

Active memory usage

GiB·h

The actual memory usage that a sandbox generates while it is active

Light hibernation memory usage

GiB·h

The actual memory usage that a sandbox generates while it is in light hibernation

Disk usage

GiB·h

The actual total disk usage that a sandbox generates, including deep hibernation disk usage

Deep hibernation disk usage

GiB·h

The portion of the total disk usage generated during deep hibernation

Deep hibernation disk usage is already included in the total disk usage. Do not add the two values together when you calculate the total disk usage.

Sandbox states and resource usage

The following table shows whether each sandbox state generates vCPU, memory, and disk usage.

Light hibernation is supported only by the Flash Edition. All three QoS classes use the same billing rules but have different resource unit prices. For more information about how QoS classes are defined, see Team and QoS.

Billing

  • Agent Sandbox meters resource usage by the second. Usage periods shorter than 1 second are rounded up to 1 second. Bills are generated every hour.

  • The period summary in Cost Center aggregates the resource usage generated during complete metered hours within the selected time range, and displays the trend by calendar day.

  • Resource usage comes from final metering results and differs from real-time monitoring metrics in both data source and purpose.

  • Free quotas and discounts affect the fees, but do not change the actual resource usage displayed.

  • Resource usage provides a cost estimate. Actual charges are subject to your bills in the Expenses and Costs console.

For more information about QoS pricing, free quotas, and the detailed billing rules for each state, see Billing Overview.
