Precautions

Take note of the following precautions during a version upgrade:

• For clusters in reserved mode (32 cores or above) or elastic mode (32 cores or above): data reads and writes are not interrupted. Occasional brief disconnections may occur in queries within 5 minutes before the upgrade is complete.
• For clusters in reserved mode (basic edition) or elastic mode (8 or 16 cores): data writes are interrupted for about 30 minutes. Occasional brief disconnections may occur in queries within 5 minutes before the upgrade is complete.
• During the cluster upgrade, database access, account management, database management, and IP whitelist settings are not affected by default.
• During the cluster upgrade, write and query operations may experience occasional jitter. Make sure that your applications have a retry mechanism.
• During the cluster upgrade, connections may be briefly disconnected. Make sure that your applications have a reconnection mechanism.
