Switch between billing methods
AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL allows you to switch between billing methods for instances based on your business requirements.
Usage notes

When you change the billing method of an AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance, the workloads on the instance are not interrupted.

The subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method, and you are offered higher discounts for longer subscription periods. For long-term use, we recommend that you select the subscription billing method.
Procedure
Switch to subscription
When you switch the billing method of an instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription, an order is generated. The new billing method does not take effect until you complete the payment of the order. If the order is unpaid or the payment fails, the incomplete order is displayed on the My Orders page. In this case, you cannot purchase instances or switch between billing methods until you pay for the order.
- Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
- In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.

Find your instance, and in the Actions column, choose .

Select a subscription duration, read and agree to the Terms of Service, then click Buy Now.

On the Pay page, confirm the order details and payment method, then click Subscribe.
Switch to pay-as-you-go
Each pay-as-you-go instance is billed and paid by hour. To prevent overdue payments that may cause downtime, make sure that your account balance is sufficient.
- Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
- In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.

Find your instance, and in the Actions column, choose .

On the page that appears, read the notes and check the refund amount in the lower part of the page.

Read and select the Terms of Service.

Click Buy Now.
