Switch the network type-AnalyticDB(AnalyticDB)-阿里云帮助中心

By default, AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instances use a VPC. If your instance is in a classic network, you can switch it to a VPC. The instance and the destination VPC must be in the same region.

Background

A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) provides an isolated network environment on Alibaba Cloud where you can customize route tables, CIDR blocks, and gateways. You can connect your on-premises data center to your VPC resources over a leased line or VPN connection for a smooth migration to the cloud.

Procedure

Create a VPC in the same region as your target AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance.
Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.
Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Database Connection to open the Connection Information page.
Click Switch to VPC. The Switch to VPC panel opens.
Select a VPC and a vSwitch, and then click OK.

Important
After you switch to a VPC, the internal endpoint switches from the classic network to the VPC. Consequently, ECS instances in the classic network cannot access the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance. The public endpoint is unaffected.
