Data Management (DMS) provides a simple and intuitive graphical interface for database management, offering secure database access and permission management. Using DMS to connect to your AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance lets developers focus on application development and business requirements instead of database management and maintenance.

Overview

Data Management (DMS) supports relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, PPAS, and Petadata; PolarDB-X and other OLTP databases; AnalyticDB, DLA, and other OLAP databases; and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis. This all-in-one service integrates data management, schema management, user authorization, security auditing, data trending, data tracing, BI charting, performance optimization, and server management.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained the endpoint of your AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance.

    • If your client is on an ECS instance in the same region and network type as your AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance, you can connect to it using its internal endpoint. You can find the internal endpoint in the Database Connection Information section on the instance details page of the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.

    • If your client is deployed on an ECS instance that is in a different region or has a different network type than the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance, or on a system outside of Alibaba Cloud, you need to apply for a public endpoint and use it to connect. For instructions on how to apply for a public endpoint, see Manage public endpoints.

  • You have obtained your client's IP address and added it to the IP address whitelist of your AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance. For more information, see Configure an IP address whitelist.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.

  3. Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.

  4. Optional: Create a database account. For more information, see Create and manage users.

If you have an initial account, you can use it to log on to the database.

  5. In the upper-right corner of the instance details page, click Log On to Database.

  6. On the Log On to Database Instance page, enter your Account and Database Password, and click Log On.
