Update the minor version of an AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL instance-AnalyticDB(AnalyticDB)-阿里云帮助中心

AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL regularly releases new minor engine versions with new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements. When you create an instance, it uses the latest available minor version by default. You can upgrade existing instances to a newer minor version to take advantage of these updates.

Precautions

Upgrading the minor version of an instance triggers a restart. The instance is unavailable during this process. Perform this upgrade during off-peak hours to minimize the impact on your business.

Procedure

Log on to the AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL console.
In the upper-left corner of the console, select a region.
Find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID.
On the Basic Information page, in the Basic Information section, click Update Minor Version next to Minor Version.

Note
If This is already the latest version. is displayed next to Minor Version instead of Update Minor Version, your instance is running the latest version and no upgrade is needed.
In the Update Minor Version dialog box, select a Desired Version.
You can choose to upgrade to the Recommended Version or the Latest Version:
- Recommended Version: The latest stable minor engine version.
- Latest Version: The most recent minor engine version.
Click OK.
If your Alibaba Cloud account is linked to a mobile phone, complete the SMS verification as prompted.
After you submit the request, return to the console to check the status of the instance. The status is Updating Version during the upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, the status changes to Running.

Note
The upgrade process typically takes 3 to 15 minutes. The instance is unavailable during this time, so plan accordingly. After the upgrade is complete and the instance status returns to Running, you can reconnect to your databases.
