Resource groups let you organize cloud resources by purpose, permission, and ownership to create a resource hierarchy for multiple projects and users within your enterprise. Each cloud resource belongs to only one resource group, and existing associations between resources remain unchanged.

Usage

  • A resource group can contain cloud resources from different regions. For example, resource group A can contain instances from the China (Beijing) and China (Hangzhou) regions.

  • Resource groups inherit the global permissions of RAM users. If you grant a RAM user permissions to manage all Alibaba Cloud resources, all resource groups that belong to the Alibaba Cloud account are also visible to the RAM user.

Manage resource groups

To create, delete, modify, or view resource groups, see Manage resource groups.
