Deploy an application by using a shared template

Updated at:

This topic describes how to deploy an application using a shared template in Cloud Architect Design Tools (CADT).

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Cloud Architect Design Tools (CADT) console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Create > My solution > template.

  3. On the My solution page, find the template that is shared with you. Hover over the template and click Create Based On Template.

  4. On the template editing page, double-click the ECS node and modify the resource configurations if needed.

  5. After you configure the template, click Save in the upper-right corner to save it as an application. In the Save Application dialog box, enter an application name, such as web-app-deployment, and then click Confirm.

  6. After the application is saved, its architecture topology appears on the canvas. The topology includes resources such as VPC, VSwitch, ECS, SLB, database, and Elastic IP Address, along with their connections. Click Deploy Application in the upper-right corner.

  7. The system first performs a resource verification. CADT checks the resource activation status, parameter settings, inventory, and connections between resources. Once the verification is Successful, click Next: Price List.

  8. On the Price List page, review the cost breakdown, original price, discounted price, and final price of the resources. You can click View Report for a detailed cost analysis report. After confirming the details, click Next: Confirm Order.

  9. On the Confirm page, confirm the resource specifications and prices in sequence, read and agree to Alibaba Cloud International Website Product Terms of Service, and then click Next Step: Pay and Create.

After you click Next: Pay and Create, a confirmation dialog box appears. It indicates that subscription resources such as RDS, CLB, EIP, and ECS cannot be released until they expire. Click Confirm.
