Pricing Calculator
The CADT pricing calculator calculates real-time product prices, helping you find the lowest prices and compare costs.
Price calculation
The CADT pricing calculator currently supports 10 cloud products, including commonly used services such as ECS, load balancer, Object Storage Service (OSS), Shared Bandwidth Package, and Web Application Firewall (WAF). The following example uses an ECS instance to explain the basic functions of the calculator.
Getting resource prices
The following example uses an ECS instance to show you how to get a price. You can select multiple regions and subscription durations to easily compare prices. For this example, we selected three regions: China (Beijing), China (Hangzhou), and China (Shanghai), along with two subscription durations: "1 month" and "3 months". After you select the region and subscription duration, you can enter your desired server specifications, such as an instance type with 4 cores and 8 GB of memory. A list of candidate instances appears on the right side of the page. These instances match your selected criteria for region and instance type and are sorted by price from lowest to highest. Therefore, to find the lowest price for a specific instance type, simply select all the regions you want to compare. Click the "Select this instance type" button on the right side of the list. The page then displays your selected instance type and a list of its available availability zones.
Note: If the selected instance type is out of stock, the availability zone list will be empty after you click "Select this instance type". A red prompt stating "No available zones in (XX region) are found for the instance type" will appear on the right.
Comparing prices
To compare the price of an ecs.c6a.xlarge instance across the China (Beijing), China (Hangzhou), and China (Ulanqab) regions, enter the instance type in the input box on the right. The list will display the prices for all three regions. In this example, the price in China (Ulanqab) is the lowest, while the prices in China (Hangzhou) and China (Beijing) are the same.
After you click "Select this instance type", you might find that the instance is out of stock in China (Ulanqab) but still available in China (Beijing) and China (Hangzhou). You can then view and select a specific availability zone from the drop-down list. In addition to comparing the same instance type across different regions, you can also easily compare the prices of different instance types. The following example shows a price comparison for different instance types with 4 cores and 8 GB of memory in the China (Beijing) region. The list displays various 4-core, 8 GB instance types, such as ecs.c6a.xlarge, ecs.g6a.xlarge, and ecs.c6.xlarge, sorted by price from lowest to highest.
Getting an accurate quote
To get an accurate quote for an ECS instance, you need to specify additional details, including the operating system, the size and configuration of the system disk and data disks, the public bandwidth, and the number of instances:
Instance type: ecs.c6a.xlarge
Disks: one 40 GB system disk and one 100 GB data disk
Bandwidth: 1 Mbps of public bandwidth
After you configure the instance, click "Inquire and Add". The price details appear on the right:
Because both "1 month" and "3 months" were selected for the subscription duration, the calculator displays two separate prices, one for each duration.
Getting prices for multiple products
Let's get a quote for an ApsaraDB RDS instance running MySQL 8.0.
Version: MySQL 8.0
Instance type: rds.mysql.s3.large (4 cores, 8 GB)
Storage: 100 GB cloud disk, ESSD PL3
Quantity: 2
Billing method: subscription (1 month, 3 months)
Then, click "Get Quote and Add to List". You can see the pricing information in the list on the right.
Resources are added to the Default product list. You can also create your own product lists.
How to manage multiple product lists?
In the button bar on the right side of the product list, you can create, delete, copy, and share product lists.
Click the Create Product List button. In the dialog box that appears, enter a list name to create the list. You can then add products to the list.
You can also copy a list. Clicking the Copy button creates a copy of the current list.
Deletes the current manifest. Click the Delete button and confirm the action in the confirmation dialog box that appears.
You can also re-quote the current list: click the Re-quote button, and the system will retrieve the latest real-time prices for all products in the list and update the quote.
How do I share a product list with other users?
In the upper-right corner of the product list panel, you can find the Share Current List button.
First, click the "Share Current List" button. A dialog box appears as follows: It displays product list information and a Share Product List button.
Next, click the Share Product List button to generate a shareable URL. Click the "Copy" button next to the URL.
Send the shared link to another Alibaba Cloud user. When the recipient opens the URL in a browser, a dialog box appears. This dialog box displays the contents of the shared product list and includes a Query Real-time Price and Save to My Product List button at the bottom.
The recipient clicks the "Query Real-time Price and Save to My Product List" button. In the dialog box, they enter a new name for the list and click "Save".
The shared product list then appears in the recipient's product list on the right side of the page, with prices updated from their account's real-time query.
Downloading a detailed quote
Click "View List Details" to open a dialog box. This dialog box shows detailed information for each product in the list, including the instance type, region, duration, and price. This dialog box contains an "Export Product List to Excel" button.
Select the products you want to export and click "Export Product List" to download the quote as an Excel file. The exported Excel file includes columns for product type, configuration, region, subscription duration, quantity, and the corresponding price.
