Overdue payments

When a payment for a pay-as-you-go instance is overdue, the service status of the instance changes as follows:

The Overdue status displayed in the Expenses and Costs console does not always mean that your services will be suspended. In some cases, it simply indicates that a recently generated internet traffic bill has not yet been deducted from your account balance. This is an unpaid bill, not a service suspension caused by insufficient account balance. Specifically:

• When your CDT outbound internet traffic exceeds the monthly free quota of 220 GB, CDT Public Network charges and Elastic IP outbound traffic fees are generated based on a tiered pricing model.

• After the billing cycle ends, the system automatically deducts these charges from your account balance. No manual payment action is required.

• As long as your account balance remains sufficient to cover the charges, your service will not be affected.

• An overdue payment occurs when your available balance, including cash, vouchers, coupons, and pre-authorizations, is insufficient to cover a generated bill.

• If your account has an overdue payment but is within the service suspension protection quota, your service will not be suspended.

  Alibaba Cloud provides service suspension protection, which lets you continue using Alibaba Cloud services for a specific period or up to a certain amount after a pay-as-you-go payment becomes overdue. Billing continues normally during this period. The protection quota does not limit the total overdue amount. Your quota or duration is automatically calculated and updated monthly based on factors such as your historical spending on Alibaba Cloud. For more information, see Service Suspension Protection.

• If a payment for an Alibaba Cloud product is overdue for a certain period, the associated instance may be paused or automatically released. For more information, see the overdue payments document for the specific product.

• Top up your account as soon as possible to clear the overdue bill. This prevents business disruptions that can result from resource suspension or release.
