Tag-based bill splitting in CDT enables fine-grained cost tracking and management, improving budget control, billing transparency, financial reporting and auditing, and cost optimization.
Create and attach tags to cloud resources
Console

Add a tag:

Log on to the Tag Console. Click Create Tag.

In the Create Tag dialog box, set the tag key and tag value. Alternatively, upload an Excel file (.xlsx) that contains your pre-edited tag data. Then click Create.
If you enter an existing tag key, a new tag value is added for that key.

Tag Key: Required. Select an existing tag key or enter a new one. Prefix-based fuzzy search is supported. You can attach up to 10 tag keys at once. Each tag key can contain up to 128 characters. It cannot start with
aliyunoracs:, and it cannot containhttp://orhttps://. -
Tag Value: Optional. Each tag value can contain up to 128 characters. It cannot start with
aliyunoracs:, and it cannot containhttp://orhttps://.

Attached resources:

When creating a resource, select a tag directly from the list of tag keys and values in the Alibaba Cloud service console to attach it.

For existing resources, go to the Tag Console. In the tag list, click Add to Resources in the Actions column for your target tag.

To attach a tag to resources across multiple products and regions: Set Method to Specify Resources to Select from Resource List, then choose resources from the list. You can filter resources using multiple conditions.

To attach a tag to resources in a specific product and region: Set Method to Specify Resources to Enter Resource IDs. Select the target product and region, then manually enter resource IDs separated by commas (,).

To detach a tag, click View Resources in the Actions column for your target tag. On the Resources tab, you can detach resources.

Split bills by tag
After you enable cost allocation tags and designate specific tags as cost allocation tags, you can view tag-based split bills on pages such as Cost Analysis and Bill Details in Expenses and Costs .
If you have not enabled any tags on the Cost Allocation Tags page, no tags appear in Expenses and Costs. The cost allocation tags list includes all tags you have created. If a tag has no active use case, you can leave it disabled.

Go to the Cost Allocation Tags page to enable cost allocation tags:

On first use, click Next, select your target tags, and follow the prompts to Enable.

Later, you can click Enable or Disable in the Actions column for a tag to adjust which tags are used for bill splitting.

View split bills:

Split Bill
On first use of Split Bill Details, go to the Split Bill Details page in Expenses and Costs and click Activate Now. This feature is free. Split bill data becomes available the day after you enable it.
Go to the Split Bill Details page in Expenses and Costs to view resource costs.
Click the
button to export split bill details. On the Export Records page, download your exported file. -
Cost Analysis
On first use of Cost Analysis, go to the Cost Analysis page in Expenses and Costs and click Activate for Free. If you have consumption data, the feature becomes fully available 48 hours after you enable it.
Go to the Cost Analysis page in Expenses and Costs. Set Category: to Instance Tag to view costs by tag.

Cost Centers
Go to the Cost Center page in Expenses and Costs. Create cost centers as needed, and assign resources to cost centers by tag.
