Connect a Cloud Connect Network (CCN) instance to a transit router to let the data center attached to the CCN communicate with other network instances on the transit router, such as virtual private clouds (VPCs) in the same or different regions.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
A transit router created in the region where the CCN instance is deployed. For details, see Create a transit router instance.
(Cross-account only) Authorization from the account that owns the CCN instance. For details, see Cross-account network instance authorization.
Interconnectivity rules for CCN regions
Review these rules before creating the connection. The rules determine whether you need an additional inter-region connection after connecting the CCN instance to the transit router.
Chinese mainland regions: A transit router (TR) in a Chinese mainland CCN region communicates by default with a Basic Edition TR in any other Chinese mainland region — no inter-region connection is required. To communicate with an Enterprise Edition TR in another Chinese mainland region, create an inter-region connection first.
Regions outside the Chinese mainland: TRs must be connected through an inter-region connection to enable communication, regardless of their editions.
Create a CCN connection in the console
Log on to the CEN console.
On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance.
On the Basic Information > Transit Router tab, find the transit router in the target region and click Create Network Instance Connection in the Actions column.
On the Connect Network Instance page, configure the following parameters and click OK.
| Parameter | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Instance Type | Select Cloud Connect Network (CCN). | Cloud Connect Network (CCN) |
| Region | Select the region where the CCN instance is located. | China (Hangzhou) |
| Transit Router | Automatically populated with the transit router in the current region. | — |
| Resource Owner UID | Select Current Account if the CCN instance and the transit router belong to the same Alibaba Cloud account. Select Different Account and enter the primary account ID of the CCN instance owner if they belong to different accounts. | Current Account |
| Network Instance | Select the ID of the CCN instance to connect. | ccn-bp1t9osmuln1vxl2**** |
After you create the connection
After the CCN connection is created:
It automatically associates with the default route table of the transit router.
The CCN instance automatically propagates its routes to the default route table.
To view the connection details, go to the Intra-region Connections tab on the transit router details page. For details, see View network instance connections.
