Create a CCN connection
Create a Cloud Connect Network (CCN) connection to attach a CCN instance to a transit router. The transit router then enables communication between the on-premises data center associated with the CCN instance and other network instances, such as VPCs in the same or different regions.
Prerequisites
A transit router in the region where the CCN instance resides. For instructions, see Create a transit router.
(Cross-account only) Authorization from the Alibaba Cloud account that owns the CCN instance. A transit router can connect to CCN instances that belong to the same account or to different accounts. For instructions, see Cross-account authorization for network instances.
Notes on transit router interconnectivity for CCN regions
For regions within the Chinese mainland:
A transit router in a Chinese mainland CCN region and a Basic Edition transit router in another Chinese mainland CCN region are natively interconnected, with no need to configure a cross-region connection.
A transit router in a Chinese mainland CCN region and an Enterprise Edition transit router in another Chinese mainland CCN region require a cross-region connection to be configured before they can interconnect.
For regions outside the Chinese mainland: A transit router in a CCN region outside the Chinese mainland must have a cross-region connection configured with a transit router in any other region (regardless of whether it is a Basic Edition or Enterprise Edition transit router) before interconnection can be established.
Create a CCN connection in the console
This procedure creates an intra-region connection between a CCN instance and a transit router. If the on-premises data center must communicate with network instances in other regions, review the interconnectivity rules for CCN regions.
Log on to the CEN console.
On the CEN Instance page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.
On the Basic Information > Transit Router tab, find the transit router in the target region and, in the Actions column, click Create Connection > Create Intra-Region Connection.
On the Create Intra-Region Connection page, configure the following parameters for the CCN connection and click OK.
Configuration item | Description |
Instance Type | Select Cloud Connect Network (CCN). |
Region | Select the region where the CCN instance resides. |
Transit Router | The transit router created in the selected region is automatically displayed. |
Resource Owner UID | Select the type of the Alibaba Cloud account that owns the CCN instance. Select Current Account if the VPC belongs to the same Alibaba Cloud account. Select Different Account and enter the primary account ID if the VPC belongs to a different account. |
Network Instance | Select the ID of the CCN instance that you want to connect. After you create the CCN connection, it is automatically associated with the default route table of the transit router. The CCN instance also automatically advertises its routes to that route table. |

Create a CCN connection by calling an API operation
You can call an API operation to create a CCN connection by using Alibaba Cloud SDK (recommended), Alibaba Cloud CLI, Terraform, and ROS. For more information about the API operation, see AttachCenChildInstance.
