This topic describes the pricing of computing resource plans and explains how to purchase and view them for ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition.

Limitations

  • A computing resource plan offsets the computing resource costs for ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition.

  • Supported regions: China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Guangzhou), China (Shenzhen), China (Ulanqab), China (Hong Kong), Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, US (Silicon Valley), US (Virginia), Germany (Frankfurt), and Philippines (Manila).

Notes

  • The billing method for a computing resource plan is subscription, and a plan has a validity period of three years.

    Note
    • After you purchase a computing resource plan, it automatically offsets the fees for eligible computing resources.

    • When a plan is exhausted, billing for the cluster's computing resources reverts to pay-as-you-go.

  • The minimum capacity for a computing resource plan is 3,000 CCU-hours.

  • Computing resource plans do not support renewal. You can purchase an unlimited number of additional plans as needed, and they can be stacked for combined use.

  • Unsubscription is not supported.

Important

The prices in this topic are for reference. For actual prices, refer to the console.

ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition offers three types of computing resource plans. The larger the plan capacity, the lower the unit price.

Offset rules

The price of a computing resource plan is the same across all regions. However, the offset factor varies by region, which affects the amount of computing resources a plan can offset.

Calculating offset usage

Formula: Plan capacity consumed = Actual CCU usage of the cluster × Offset factor of the cluster's region

Offset factors by region

  • An offset factor determines the capacity that a computing resource plan can offset in different regions.

  • In regions where the offset factor is greater than 1, the plan capacity consumed is higher than the actual resource usage. However, this model is still more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. For more information, see Example 1.

Examples

Example 1

This example shows how a computing resource plan reduces costs.

Note

The resource plan costs in the following example are calculated based on the price of CNY 0.25639 per CCU-hour for a 3,000 to 100,000 CCU-hours plan.

Assume you have an Enterprise Edition cluster in the Singapore region that consumes 10 CCU-hours of computing resources (10 CCUs for one hour). The following comparison shows your costs:

  • With the pay-as-you-go billing method, your cost is calculated as follows: CNY 8.097894 = 10 CCU-hours × CNY 0.8097894/CCU-hour.

For more information about the pay-as-you-go pricing of computing resources, see Pricing of ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition.

  • With a computing resource plan, the plan capacity consumed is 16.2 CCU-hours = 10 CCU-hours × 1.62. Your cost is calculated as follows: CNY 4.153518 = 16.2 CCU-hours × CNY 0.25639/CCU-hour.

This example shows that although your cluster used 10 CCU-hours of computing resources, 16.2 CCU-hours were deducted from your plan. However, compared to the pay-as-you-go method, the computing resource plan saved you CNY 3.944376 (CNY 8.097894 - CNY 4.153518), a cost reduction of nearly 48%.

Example 2

This example shows how usage is deducted from a computing resource plan.

Assume you have the following resources in your account:

  • A computing resource plan with 360 CCU-hours of capacity.

  • An Enterprise Edition cluster in the Singapore region.

  • An Enterprise Edition cluster in a US region.

  • An Enterprise Edition cluster in the China (Hangzhou) region.

The following table shows the compute usage of each cluster over one hour and the required plan capacity to offset it.

Cluster

Compute usage

Plan capacity consumed

Enterprise Edition cluster in Singapore

8 CCUs for 1 hour.

8 CCU × 1 hour × 1.62 = 12.96 CCU-hours

Enterprise Edition cluster in the US region

12 CCUs for the first 30 minutes, then 8 CCUs for the next 30 minutes.

(12 CCU × 0.5 hour × 1.3) + (8 CCU × 0.5 hour × 1.3) = 13.0 CCU-hours

Enterprise Edition cluster in China (Hangzhou)

16 CCUs for 1 hour.

16 CCU × 1 hour × 1 = 16 CCU-hours

At the end of this hour, the remaining capacity of the computing package, which starts at 360 CCU*H, will be 360 CCU*H - 12.96 CCU*H - 11.8 CCU*H - 16 CCU*H = 319.24 CCU*H.

Purchase a computing resource plan

Important

Computing resource plans are non-refundable. To avoid waste, estimate your resource usage before purchasing. Any usage that exceeds the capacity of your plan is billed at the standard pay-as-you-go rate.

  1. Go to the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse Enterprise Edition purchase page.

  2. Set Service Type to Enterprise Edition Computing Resource Plan.

  3. Configure the parameters, including Resource Plan Type, Specification, Resource Plan Validity Period, and Quantity.

  4. Click Buy and Start.

  5. On the Confirm Order page, read the Service Agreement and select the corresponding checkbox.

  6. Click Check Out and follow the prompts to complete the payment.

View plan usage and details

  1. Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Manage Reserved Instances.
