Overview

The Overview page of Cloud Backup provides a visual summary of your backup resources. Use this page to assess the status and security of your resources at a glance.

Page layout and region filter

The following figure shows the Overview page.

Select a region in the upper-left corner of the Overview page to filter statistics. All regions are counted by default.

Backup statistics

The Backup statistics section summarizes your backups:

Number of Backup Policies — The number of backup policies in the current region. To view the details of a backup policy, go to the Policy Center.
Storage Vaults — The total number of backup vaults and archive vaults in the current region.
Storage Vault Usage — The total amount of data that is stored in backup vaults and archive vaults. This value determines your storage capacity fees.
- Standard tier — The amount of data that is stored in the Standard tier of a backup vault.
- Archive tier — The amount of data that is moved from the Standard tier to the Archive tier. This value determines your Archive-tier storage capacity fees.
File Clients — The number of activated clients that have completed backup jobs. This value determines your Cloud Backup client fees for File Backup.
Important
A client is still counted after you uninstall it if the backup data of the client is retained.

The following billing behaviors apply to storage vault usage:

Storage vault usage is not real-time. Changes that result from new or deleted backups can take up to 24 hours to appear.
Capacity bills are generated hourly based on storage vault usage. Because of this latency, the usage that is recorded at billing time may not be up to date, and the usage that is shown on the Overview page can differ from the amount that you are billed.

Important

With a regular backup cycle, this latency has a negligible impact on your bills. Avoid frequently modifying backup plans or manually deleting backups. Set a reasonable backup cycle and retention period instead.

Protected resources

The Protected resources section shows the number of data sources whose backup plans are not suspended, grouped by resource type and counted per region.

The Protected resources section supports the following data sources:

Elastic Compute Service (ECS) files
Object Storage Service (OSS) buckets
Apsara File Storage NAS (NAS) file systems
Local files
Local NAS file systems
Cloud Parallel File System (CPFS) file systems
Tablestore instances
ACK clusters
ECS instances
SQL Server databases
Oracle databases
MySQL databases
Virtual machines
SAP HANA databases

Note

ECS files include ECS File Backup Essential Edition and ECS File Backup Advanced Edition. On the Overview page, the number of ECS file data sources is the sum of both editions.

Job statistics

The Job statistics section shows the number of backup and restore jobs by state (successful, failed, and running) over different time ranges, such as the last 7 or 30 days. Successful jobs include completed jobs and partially completed jobs.

The Job statistics section supports the following data sources:

ECS files
OSS buckets
NAS file systems
Local files
Local NAS file systems
CPFS file systems
Tablestore instances
ACK clusters
ECS instances

Storage data size

The Storage data size section shows the data that is stored in each backup vault as column charts over different time ranges, such as the last 7 or 30 days. To view the details of your vaults, click Storage Vaults in the upper-right corner of the card.

Data protection risk overview

The Data protection risk overview section shows the protection scores of your ECS, OSS, NAS, and Tablestore resources. The Backup and Disaster Recovery Center (BDRC) provides these scores and updates them daily.

For low-scoring resources, click the icon in the upper-right corner of the card to go to the BDRC console, where you can view risk details and take measures to fix the risks.

Resource plans

The Resource plans section shows the number of active resource plans and the number of plans that expire within seven days. Resource plans are not region-specific: they offset backup fees across all regions in your Alibaba Cloud account.

From the Resource plans card, you can perform the following operations:

Click the icon in the upper-right corner of the card to view usage details in the Expenses and Costs center.
Click Purchase to go to the purchase page.
Click Manage to renew or upgrade plans on the Resource Plans page.

The Overview page also includes the following sections:
