Monitoring and logs are essential for ensuring the availability of your Cloud Web Hosting resources and the overall health of your services. You can use the provided monitoring capabilities to continuously collect data. Alibaba Cloud offers various services for monitoring and log auditing, such as site resource monitoring, to track your cloud resource usage and service status in real time. This allows you to respond promptly whenever you receive a monitoring alarm.

Host and site monitoring

Cloud Web Hosting lets you monitor your site's running status, traffic, web space, database space, CPU, memory, and bandwidth. For more information, see View host and site information for a Cloud Web Hosting instance.

Shared cloud web hosting

You can monitor the resource usage of a Shared Cloud Web Hosting instance, including its site running status, traffic, web space, and database space. The following are examples:

  • Shared Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Windows

For a Shared Cloud Web Hosting instance that runs Windows, the left side of the Website Information section displays metrics such as Running Status (which you can control by clicking Stop Site), Web Space (2048.00 MB), Traffic (30.00 GB), and Database Space (200.00 MB). The right side displays the Temporary Domain Name, Activation Date, Expiration Date, and Supported Languages (.NET 1.1/2.0/3.5/4.0/4.5, ASP, HTML, and WAP).

  • Shared Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Linux

This type of instance also allows you to view the FTP service status and web service status.

The Website Information panel also displays information such as Running Status, Web Space, number of files and folders, Traffic, Database Space, Temporary Domain Name, Activation Date, Expiration Date, and Supported Languages (HTML, WAP, and PHP 5.3 to 8.0).

Exclusive cloud web hosting

  • Exclusive Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Windows

In addition to site resources, you can also monitor server-level resources, such as CPU, memory, and bandwidth.

By default, the alarm notification period is 8:00 to 20:00, and the alarm switch is off. You can click Set Monitoring Alarm to modify these settings. The Monitoring Information section displays real-time monitoring charts for web space, number of files and folders, CPU, memory, and bandwidth. At the bottom, you can view the number of connections categorized by Statistics by Source IP and Statistics by Connection Type.

Host and site logs

Note

For compliance purposes, website access logs, error logs, FTP operation logs, and console operation logs are retained for at least 180 days.

Website log

The available website log content depends on the operating system of your Cloud Web Hosting instance. For more information, see Download or delete a website log.

  • Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Windows

For both Shared and Exclusive Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Windows, you can view and download access logs from the last 180 days in the Website Log section of the console.

The log files are stored in the wwwlogs folder of your site and can also be downloaded and viewed by using FTP. The page lists the log files with their filenames, dates, and sizes. To download a compressed log package, click Download next to the log file.

  • Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Linux

For Enhanced Shared or Exclusive Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Linux, you can view and download access logs from the last 180 days on the Access Log tab in the console. You can also view and download the error log and FTP operation log. Available features are displayed in the console and may vary by instance type.

In the Actions column of the access log list, click Download to download a log file or click Delete to delete it.

    Important

Standard Shared Cloud Web Hosting instances that run Linux support only viewing and downloading access logs from the last 180 days in the Website Log section of the console.

Operation log

The Cloud Web Hosting console displays the historical operation log for your site. It records all operations from purchase until the instance expires and is released, such as site migration, file compression, or console logins.

The operation log page provides filters for Date Range, Object/Operation Type, and Operation Result. The log table includes columns for Date, Source IP, Object Type, Operation Type, and Operation Result.
