Limitations

• Instance limitations

  • You cannot transfer a web hosting instance within 24 hours of its purchase.

  • Basic web hosting and General-purpose web hosting instances cannot be transferred.

• Account limitations

  • You cannot transfer an instance from a direct-purchase account to a reseller account.

  • If you purchased your web hosting instance through a reseller, you cannot view it in your Alibaba Cloud account's management console or transfer it yourself.

    • If you forgot the login credentials for the web hosting management console, contact your reseller for assistance.

    • If you need to renew or upgrade your web hosting instance, contact your reseller to perform these operations.

    • If you need to transfer the web hosting instance to your personal account, contact your reseller to initiate the transfer.

Precautions

• Before the transfer

  • An account transfer cannot be canceled or reversed after submission. Verify all information carefully before you proceed.

  • If the web hosting instance is bound to a domain name that uses a paid instance of Alibaba Cloud DNS, the corresponding DNS records are not transferred to the destination account.

    Note

    If the DNS records also need to be transferred, you can reclaim the DNS records in the destination account after the domain name transfer is complete. For more information, see reclaim DNS records.

• After the transfer

  • The destination account gains full management permissions for the instance. Proceed with caution.

  • Passwords are not transferred and must be initialized after the transfer. To reuse your current management console login password, FTP password, or database password, record them before you begin.

  • Transferred instances are not eligible for refunds. Before you start, ensure that you intend to keep the instance.

Procedure

This procedure demonstrates how to transfer a web hosting instance from Alibaba Cloud Account A to Alibaba Cloud Account B.

1. Log on to the Cloud Web Hosting management page.

2. On the Web Hosting page, find the instance that you want to transfer, select the checkbox next to its name, and then click Transfer to Another Account at the bottom of the list.

3. On the Service Transfer page, configure the transfer information.

   1. In the List of Transferable Services section, confirm that the correct instance is listed.

   2. In the Service Transfer Identity Verification (All fields are required except for Remarks) section, enter the verification code and the destination account information.

      For the Destination Account Information, enter the Destination Account Logon ID and the Destination Account Mobile Number.

   3. Click Submit.

      A success message is displayed. You can log on to the destination account and view the transferred web hosting instance in the Web Hosting management console.
