CloudSSO users change their logon password directly in the CloudSSO user portal. Passwords expire after 90 days — change yours before expiry to avoid being locked out.

When to change your password

CloudSSO supports two ways to change a user password:

  • Administrator resets the password — A CloudSSO administrator can reset the password for any CloudSSO user from the CloudSSO console. Use this path when a user forgets their password, the password has expired, or the current password poses a security risk. For more information, see Reset the password of a user.

  • User changes the password in the CloudSSO user portal — Change your own password directly in the CloudSSO user portal in the following situations:

    • Password expiring within 20 days: The CloudSSO user portal displays a prompt each time you log on. You can ignore the prompt, but change your password before the 20-day window closes to avoid interruption. In this case, you need only to enter the new password.

    • First logon: If the administrator has enabled the require-password-change-on-first-logon setting, you must set a new password before accessing the CloudSSO user portal.

    • Routine rotation: Change your password at any time for security. You must enter your current password and the new password.

This topic describes how to change your password when you are required to do so at first logon or when the CloudSSO user portal prompts you to change it.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the CloudSSO user portal using the username-password logon method.

For more information, see Log on to the CloudSSO user portal and access Alibaba Cloud resources.

  2. Move the pointer over your profile picture in the upper-right corner and click Change Password.

  3. On the Change Password page, enter your old password and a new password, then click Confirm.

The new password must meet the password policy set by your administrator. For more information, see Configure a password policy.
