This topic describes the core concepts in Cloud Migration Hub (CMH): resource, migration group, and task.

• A resource is any object you plan to migrate to Alibaba Cloud — for example, a physical server in a data center, a virtualized server, or a cloud infrastructure resource from a third-party cloud.

• A migration group is a set of resources that share the same business characteristics. A migration group can represent a single application, a set of applications, or a big data cluster within a business system.

• A migration group is the smallest unit of migration. CMH creates a dedicated dashboard for each migration group so you can track progress at the right level of granularity.

• A task in CMH corresponds to a migration task created in a migration tool. Actual data migration is performed by the migration tool, not CMH. CMH synchronizes the status of migration tasks from each tool and displays it on the dashboards so you can monitor all migrations in one place. Supported migration tools include:
