Learn about the fields that you need to configure when you create a Data Transmission Service (DTS) migration task.

Fields for creating a DTS migration task

Field	Description	Remarks
Target instance ID	The ID of the destination database instance.	Automatically specified by the system.
The ID of the source instance	The ID of the source database instance.	Automatically specified by the system.
Target Region	The region in which the destination instance is located.	Automatically specified by the system.
Database name	The name of the database to be migrated.	Separate multiple database names with commas (,). All tables in the database are migrated.
SOURCE instance account	The account of the source database instance.	The account must have read and write permissions on the databases and tables to be migrated.
SOURCE instance password	The password of the account of the source database instance.
Target instance account	The account of the destination database instance.	The account must have read and write permissions on the databases and tables to be migrated.
Target instance password	The password of the account of the destination database instance.
DTS task type	The type of the DTS migration task.	Automatically specified by the system.
Migration method	The migration mode.	Full migration: schema migration and full data migration. Full + Incremental Migration: schema migration, full migration, and incremental migration. Incremental migration does not automatically stop. You must manually stop the task in the DTS console.
DTS Payment type	The billing mode of the DTS instance.	Post-payment: the pay-as-you-go billing mode. Automatically specified by the system.
Migration tool	The migration tool to use.	Automatically specified by the system.
DTS instance type	The specifications of the DTS instance to purchase.
SOURCE instance type	The type of the source database instance.	Public network: a self-managed database with a public IP address. Dedicated Line: a self-managed database connected over Express Connect. Cloud Enterprise Network: a self-managed database that is connected over Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN).
Whether to join packet scheduling	Whether to add the task to a scheduling group.	Yes: The task is added to an enabled scheduling group, and CMH automatically schedules it based on the scheduling rule. No: The task is not added to a scheduling group and starts immediately after submission.
