Overview

The billing policies for basic CloudMonitor are as follows:

• You are charged only for add-on features, such as site monitoring, custom monitoring, custom reported events, and alert notifications sent by text message or phone call.
• Basic features are free of charge. These features include alerts for host monitoring and cloud service monitoring, application groups, availability monitoring, and dashboards.

The following table describes the billing methods supported by basic CloudMonitor and includes notes for each method.

Pay-as-you-go (cms_post)	This is a pay-as-you-go billing method. You are charged based on your actual usage. The billing cycle is one hour. Usage for less than one hour is billed as one hour. Bills are typically generated within one hour after a billing cycle ends. The maximum time is three hours. The actual time when a bill is generated prevails. After a bill is generated, the fees are automatically deducted from your account balance.	You cannot change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to a plan. Plan (cms_edition)	This is a subscription billing method. You must pay for the plan when you order it.	During the validity period, you can only upgrade your plan. Downgrades are not supported. You cannot change the billing method from a plan to pay-as-you-go.	Upgrade: You can upgrade the Professional Edition to the Ultimate Edition. Resource plan (cms_smspackage and cms_call_num)	This is a subscription billing method. You must pay for the resource plan when you order it.	Resource plans are valid for six months.
