To quickly create an alert template based on an existing one, export the template, import it, and rename it.
Export an alert template

Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- On the Alert Templates page, find the desired alert template and click Export Template in the Actions column.
- In the Export Template dialog box, copy the JSON-formatted alert template and click Confirm.
Import an alert template

Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- In the upper-left corner of the page, click Import Templates.
- In the Import Templates dialog box, paste the JSON-formatted alert template that you copied in the Export an alert template section, rename it, and then click Confirm.
- In the Confirm dialog box, click Confirm.
- In the Alert Template Created/Modified dialog box, click Cancel.
Note The alert template is created. Clicking Cancel skips applying the template to an application group. To apply alert templates to application groups, see Apply alert templates to application groups.
