Learn how to convert a trial service instance to an official one without data loss.

Background

After verifying that a trial service instance meets your needs, you can migrate its data to an official service instance. Compute Nest allows you to convert your trial instance to an official one, ensuring a smooth transition.

Notes

Before converting a trial service instance, note the following:

  • During the conversion, do not modify the resources or data of the trial service instance.

  • This feature is available only for trial service instances deployed on ECS. It is not supported for instances deployed on other resources like ACK, or for those that include middleware such as RDS or Redis.

  • The conversion involves data migration and may take a long time for instances with large amounts of data. Wait for the process to complete.

  • If your trial service instance is associated with a Marketplace product, you must pay for the order before the conversion can begin.

  • You only need to configure some parameters during the conversion. The other parameters are automatically copied from the trial service instance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Service Instance and click the Trial Service tab.

  3. Find the trial service instance to convert, and in the Actions column, click Convert to Official.

  4. On the conversion page, configure the required parameters. Select a Billing Method (such as pay-as-you-go) and Billing Type (pay-as-you-go or subscription), and configure parameters such as Availability Zone ID, VPC Instance ID, and vSwitch Instance ID. Ensure that all required fields in the progress panel on the right are completed. After the configuration is complete, the total cost is displayed at the bottom of the page.

  5. Click Next: Confirm Order. After you confirm the permissions, resources, and fees, select the I agree to authorize the service provider to obtain the preceding permissions to provide O&M services checkbox in the permission confirmation section, and then click Create Now.

  6. After submitting the request, you can click View Service to monitor the deployment or click Create Again to create another. When the conversion is complete, the instance status changes to Deployed on the Private Deployments tab of the Service Instances page. This indicates a successful conversion.
