Compute Nest provides a complete system monitoring solution that covers resource-level infrastructure monitoring with CloudMonitor and application monitoring with Prometheus. This solution provides detailed, comprehensive performance monitoring and health management for your cloud resources across both the software and hardware layers. This monitoring ecosystem enables you to view the usage of your purchased service instances from multiple perspectives, promptly respond to potential issues, optimize resource allocation, and improve service stability and business efficiency.
Overview
Monitoring: Provides resource group management across Alibaba Cloud services and regions. This feature enables you to centrally manage resources, such as servers, databases, Server Load Balancer instances, and storage, from a business perspective. This helps you manage alert rules, view monitoring data, and improve operations and maintenance (O&M) efficiency.
Alerting: Sends an alert notification when a metric meets the specified alert conditions. Its features include threshold alerts, event alerts, group process alerts, and availability monitoring alerts. For more information about how to configure alert rules, see Create an alert rule.

Resource-level monitoring - CloudMonitor
Compute Nest integrates with Alibaba Cloud CloudMonitor to provide an out-of-the-box, resource-level monitoring solution. This solution covers infrastructure monitoring, network probe monitoring of public network quality, and business monitoring based on events, custom metrics, and logs. It also provides a complete alerting system to ensure that issues are addressed and resolved efficiently. Its features are as follows:
Out-of-the-box: For resources supported by Alibaba Cloud CloudMonitor, you can view resource monitoring data within Compute Nest service instances without requiring additional configuration.
Emergency alerting: For both private and fully managed services in Compute Nest, you can set alert templates and alert contacts for cloud resources. This ensures that emergency events are addressed and handled promptly.
Flexible grouping: Compute Nest uses application groups to provide a management model and alert templates for applications that span multiple Alibaba Cloud services and regions. This helps you build an efficient monitoring and alerting management system.

Software-level monitoring - Prometheus
Compute Nest integrates with the Alibaba Cloud Prometheus agent to provide in-depth, software-level monitoring for your application platform. It uses Grafana dashboards for visualization to identify performance bottlenecks and AlertManager for alerting.

Simple configuration: Compute Nest simplifies configuration with automated services and a graphical user interface (GUI). You can quickly configure Prometheus monitoring with a few clicks and inputs, without needing to understand complex underlying settings.
