Create a file system

This topic describes how to create a CPFS file system using the NAS console.

Prerequisites

  • The CPFS service is activated.

    When you log on to the NAS console for the first time, activate the CPFS service as prompted.

  • You have authorized NAS to access your cloud resources.

    When you use CPFS for the first time, in the Overview > Common Entrance > Authorization Management > Express and CPFS Default Service Authorization section, click Go to authorization to grant the AliyunNASMangeENIRole permission.

  • A VPC is available in the region where you want to create the file system. For more information, see Create a VPC and a vSwitch.
  • An ECS instance is available in the region where you want to create the file system, and is in the VPC you created.

    If not, purchase an ECS instance. For more information, see Create an ECS instance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the NAS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose File System > File System List, and then click Create File System.
  3. In the CPFS File Storage section, click Subscription.
    This example uses the subscription billing method. Subscription offers better pricing than pay-as-you-go. To use the pay-as-you-go method, click Pay-as-you-go.
  4. Configure the parameters based on your business requirements.
    Parameter Description
    Region Select the region for your file system.
    Note You cannot access a file system from an ECS instance in a different region.
    Availability zone An availability zone is a physically isolated location within a region with independent power and networking.

    Select an availability zone. We recommend selecting the same availability zone as your ECS instance to avoid cross-zone latency.
    Type Valid values: 100 MB/s/TiB baseline and 200 MB/s/TiB baseline.

    For the same capacity, the 200 MB/s/TiB baseline provides higher bandwidth. For more information, see What is CPFS General-purpose Edition.
    Capacity Select a capacity based on your business requirements.
    Note Estimate the maximum storage you will need. If the used storage exceeds the provisioned capacity, the file system returns a no space error.
    VPC Select a VPC and a vSwitch.
    Note You must select the same VPC and vSwitch as your ECS instance.

    Quantity You can purchase only one file system at a time.
    Duration Select a subscription duration based on your business requirements.
    Note
    • The longer the duration, the greater the discount.
    • You can manage your subscription renewals in the Renewal Management Center.
  5. Click Buy Now and complete the purchase as prompted.

    After completing the purchase, return to the File System > File System List page, where you can see your new CPFS instance being created. Creation takes about 10 minutes.
