Announcement on Changes to Phone Number Status Return Values

These changes will take effect on August 1, 2023, at 00:00 (UTC+8). The restoration date will be announced separately.

Changes

Due to carrier system capacity and real-time constraints, the phone number status service—including the general, voice, text message, risk control detection, and account verification scenarios—will no longer return the “Power Off,” “Suspected Power Off,” or “Busy” statuses for China Telecom numbers. Any request that would have returned one of these three statuses will now return “Normal.”

Please review your business logic and make adjustments as needed. If this change significantly affects your operations, submit a ticket. Our technical staff will assist you.

Affected Scope

This change affects the following three statuses for China Telecom numbers: “Power Off,” “Suspected Power Off,” and “Busy.” Queries for China Mobile and China Unicom numbers remain unaffected.
