ACS supports the cluster inspection feature provided by Container Intelligent Service (CIS). Use this feature to scan your cluster for potential risks, such as insufficient cloud resource quotas and high utilization of key Kubernetes cluster resources. You can then investigate identified risks and follow the recommended solutions to resolve them. This topic describes how to use this feature.

Prerequisites

  • You have created an ACS cluster.

  • The cluster is in the Running state.

Log on to the ACS console. On the Clusters page, find the target cluster. If the value in the Cluster Status column is Running, the cluster is running properly.

Configure cluster inspection

Important

When you use the cluster inspection feature, the system runs a data collection program in your cluster to collect inspection data. This information includes the system version, load, the status of container components, and key error messages from system logs. The program does not collect your business information or sensitive data.

  1. Log on to the ACS console. In the left navigation pane, click Clusters.

  2. On the Clusters page, click the name of the target cluster. In the left navigation pane, choose Inspections and Diagnostics > Cluster Inspections.

  3. On the Cluster Inspections page, in the Schedule Rule section, click Add.

  4. In the Configure Scheduled Inspection Rule panel, set the Time Zone and Schedule. After you review the settings, select I have read and agree, and then click Save Configuration.

Once configured, the inspection runs at the specified time.

You can also run an inspection manually. On the Cluster Inspections page, in the Reports section, click Run Cluster Inspection. After the inspection is complete, the report appears in the list.

View inspection results

  1. Log on to the ACS console. In the left navigation pane, click Clusters.

  2. On the Clusters page, click the name of the target cluster. In the left navigation pane, choose Inspections and Diagnostics > Cluster Inspections.

  3. On the Cluster Inspections page, in the Reports section, find the target inspection report and click Details in the Operation column.

  4. On the Report page, review the risks, their impacts, and the recommended solutions.

    • Risks are categorized and highlighted by severity: Low, Medium, and High.

    • The inspection report details the level, name, impact, and recommended solution for each risk. For more information about common risks and their solutions, see Cluster inspection items and solutions.

Manage inspection rules

After you configure a scheduled inspection, you can perform the following operations in the Schedule Rule section:

  • Click Edit to modify the inspection rule.

  • Click Delete to remove an unneeded inspection rule. After the rule is deleted, scheduled inspections for that rule stop.
