In Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG), each share is associated with a cache disk. This topic describes how to manage cache disks in the on-premises gateway console, including how to add cache disks, delete cache disks, and test the cache disk speed.
Prerequisites
An on-premises file gateway is deployed. For more information, see Deploy an on-premises console for a file gateway.
A disk has been added. For more information, see Add disks.
Background information
Each share of an on-premises file gateway has a unique cache disk. To create multiple shares, you must create the same number of cache disks for the shares. You can transmit data in a share to Object Storage Service (OSS) or use a cache disk to synchronize data from OSS to an on-premises device.
Add a cache disk
In a web browser, enter
https://<IP address of the file gateway>to access the on-premises file gateway console.Enter your username and password, and click OK.
On the Cache Settings page, click Create.
In the Create Cache dialog box, configure the following parameters.
Hard disk: Click Select to choose an available disk.
Disks are available only after you add a disk on the deployment platform.
File System: Optional. This feature allows you to recover an accidentally deleted share by reusing data from its original cache disk.
NoteIf no file system exists on the cache disk (that is, the cache disk is empty or not initialized), selecting this option causes the cache creation to fail.
Click OK to complete the process.
Related operations
On the Caches page, you can also perform these operations:

Delete a cache disk |
Find the cache you want to delete and click Delete. |
Test a cache disk |
Find the cache that you want to test and click Speed. This tests the performance of the cache disk, including sequential I/O performance with 1 MB and 4 KB block sizes. |
