This topic explains how supplier sales representatives can submit a quote for a buyer's inquiry.
Quotation Procedure
View an inquiry
On the homepage of the Cloud Business Opportunities workbench, click Find Business Opportunities. In the list of business opportunities, find a suitable opportunity and click Submit Quote Now to open the inquiry details page.
Submit a quote
Your qualifications are verified during the quoting process. Before you submit a quote, go to the My Profile page to complete your qualification information.
Go to the inquiry details page and click Paid Quote. If a message indicates that you have insufficient quote coupons, follow the prompts to purchase more before you proceed.
If you have purchased quote coupons but are still prompted to buy more, check the following:
Ensure that the Alibaba Cloud account used for the purchase is the same as the account that you are currently logged on with.
If you used a 1688 account to log on to Alibaba Cloud and purchase the product, go to the My Profile page to confirm that the 1688 account is attached.
If the issue persists after you check the preceding items, contact us using the chatbot in the lower-right corner.
If you click Paid Quote and a pop-up window indicates that you have insufficient qualifications, follow the prompts to add the required information. As shown in the following figure, you can click Add to complete your profile and qualification information.
If the page indicates that a value-added tax (VAT) invoice cannot be issued and you have a general taxpayer qualification (not issued by an agent), click here to view the general taxpayer qualification certification procedure.
If the page indicates that your supply region does not match the buyer's region, go to the My Profile page and update your company's actual location.
After you add the required information, click Submit Quote Now again to go to the quote page. Fill in the required information, such as the price and tax rate, based on the buyer's requirements. If the quote contains many product items, click Batch Quote in the upper-left corner.
To submit a batch quote, first download the template. After you fill out the template, import the file.
Price validity period: The price you quote is valid for a specific period. After this period expires, the price may change, and the buyer cannot place an order. Set the price validity period carefully. A longer period is recommended to ensure that the buyer has sufficient time to place an order.
To upload related files, such as product sample images, click Add Attachment.
After you fill in the quote information, click Publish Quote. A "Quote Submitted Successfully" message indicates that your quote was submitted. If a message appears in red text, check your quote for any missing required information.
On the success page, click Return to Business Opportunity Follow-up to view the inquiries for which you have submitted quotes. This page was previously named Quote Management.
Go to Lead Pool > Business Opportunity Follow-up to view the details of all submitted quotes (on the page formerly named Quote Management). In the row of the desired quote, click View Details.
Revoke a quote
You can revoke a quote only if the following conditions are met:
The quote is within its validity period.
If the buyer has enabled the "Cannot be revoked after read" setting, you cannot revoke the quote after the buyer has read it. Otherwise, you can still revoke the quote after it has been read.
Go to Lead Pool > Business Opportunity Follow-up, find your quote, and open its details page. In the upper-right corner, click Revoke Quote.
Alternatively, you can reopen the inquiry and click Revoke Quote on the right.
Enter a reason for revoking the quote and click Confirm.
After the quote is successfully revoked, you can submit a new quote within the original validity period at no additional charge. To resubmit, go to Lead Pool > Business Opportunity Follow-up, click the revoked inquiry, and then click Submit Quote Now in the upper-right corner.
Modify a quote
You must revoke a quote before you can modify it. After the quote is revoked, click Resubmit Quote for that quote within the validity period. This opens the quote page, and you will not be charged for resubmitting the quote.
