Database Autonomy Service (DAS) provides the in-depth test feature for ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instances. Use this feature to detect exceptions across key performance metrics and address issues based on your business requirements.

Detectable metrics

The in-depth test feature checks the following metrics on your ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance:

  • Storage usage

  • Blocking sessions and deadlocks

  • Slow SQL statements

  • Average active sessions

  • Instance log growth

Run an in-depth test

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • An ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance (SQL Server 2008 R2 on standard SSDs or enhanced SSDs (ESSDs) is not supported)

  • Access to the DAS console

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance Monitoring.

  3. Find the target instance and click the instance ID to open the instance details page.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Performance Optimization > In-depth Test.

  5. On the In-depth Test page, review the detection results for each metric. To perform additional actions on this page:

    • Recollect data: Click Recollect, then click OK. DAS restarts data collection for the instance. After a few minutes, refresh the page to view the updated results.

    • Export results: Click Save as PDF File to download the detection results as a PDF file.
