This topic provides billing examples for the Offline Migration Service.
Example 1: Pay by device rental days
Data Transport V2 devices can be rented only in the Chinese mainland region.
Data Transport V3 devices can be rented only in the Chinese mainland, China (Hong Kong), Singapore, and Indonesia (Jakarta) regions.
A user wants to migrate 80 TB of data to Alibaba Cloud OSS using Data Transport and rents one Data Transport V2 device. The user confirms receipt of the device at 12:00 on November 4, 2023. The rental period is from 12:00 on November 5, 2023 to 12:00 on November 20, 2023. The total fee is CNY 6,000.
During or after the rental period, the user must notify Data Transport staff to retrieve the device and provide it to an Alibaba Cloud logistics partner before 12:00 on November 27, 2023. Otherwise, the device is considered lost, and the user must pay a lost device fee of CNY 100,000 to Alibaba Cloud.

Example 2: Pay by migrated data volume
This billing method is supported only in the Chinese mainland region.
A user wants to migrate 800 TB of data to Alibaba Cloud OSS using Data Transport. Alibaba Cloud provides one Data Transport V3 device for the migration. The user confirms receipt of the device at 12:00 on October 9, 2019. The rental period is from 12:00 on October 10, 2019 to 12:00 on November 9, 2019. The total fee is calculated as follows:
CNY 10,000 + (800 TB - 100 TB) × CNY 80/TB = CNY 66,000.
During or after the rental period, the user must notify Data Transport staff to retrieve the device and provide it to an Alibaba Cloud logistics partner before 12:00 on November 16, 2019. Otherwise, the device is considered lost, and the user must pay a lost device fee of CNY 450,000 to Alibaba Cloud.

Example 3: Rent a single micro Data Transport device
Micro Data Transport devices can be rented only in the Chinese mainland region.
A user wants to migrate data to Alibaba Cloud OSS using one micro Data Transport device. The estimated rental period is six months. The user places an order to rent one 10 TB micro Data Transport device for data migration.

Device return
When returning the device, the user must notify Data Transport staff to retrieve it and provide the device to an Alibaba Cloud logistics partner within seven days of the return request. Otherwise, the device is considered lost, and the user must pay a lost device fee of CNY 40,000 to Alibaba Cloud.
Example 4: Rent multiple micro Data Transport devices
Micro Data Transport devices can be rented only in the Chinese mainland region.
A user wants to migrate data to Alibaba Cloud OSS using two micro Data Transport devices. The estimated rental period is five months. The user places an order to rent one 10 TB device and one 20 TB device for data migration.

Device return
When returning the devices, the user must notify Data Transport staff to retrieve them and provide the devices to an Alibaba Cloud logistics partner within seven days of the return request. Otherwise, any devices that are not returned on time are considered lost, and the user must pay a lost device fee of CNY 40,000 per device to Alibaba Cloud.
