What is offline migration (Data Transport)
Offline migration is a secure, efficient, and convenient data migration service offered by Alibaba Cloud. It uses a custom migration device, Data Transport, to move terabytes or petabytes of on-premises data to the cloud. This service improves the efficiency of large-scale data transfers and addresses data security challenges.
If an on-premises data center has low bandwidth or no Internet access, you can use the offline migration service to migrate data to Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS).

Benefits
Flexible scaling and low cost
A single device supports a data migration capacity of 20 TB, 100 TB, or 1 PB. You can use multiple devices at the same time to improve migration efficiency.
This service is more cost-effective than using the Internet or leased lines.
Easy deployment
The service provides professional data migration devices that use standard racks and power supplies. You can deploy multiple devices at the same time to improve migration efficiency.
Secure and reliable
Storage pool: Storage pools are built on RAID 5 and can tolerate the failure of one hard drive.
Logon authentication: A username and password are required to log on.
Data erasure: After the data migration is complete, the data is erased using the official Alibaba Cloud data erasure mechanism.
