Acceleration source
To improve query performance, you can configure SelectDB, Doris, or StarRocks as an acceleration engine. This enables high-speed queries on data in MaxCompute.
Limitations
You must purchase the query acceleration feature before you can use an acceleration source.
Network connectivity must be available between the acceleration source and the offline compute engine.
Only the following compute engines support acceleration sources: MaxCompute.
If your tenant uses the MaxCompute compute engine, the acceleration source must be deployed within a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
Permissions
super administrators, system administrators, and users in custom global roles with the Acceleration Source Management-Create permission can create acceleration sources.
super administrators, system administrators, and users in custom global roles with the Acceleration Source Management-Edit permission can edit acceleration sources.
super administrators, system administrators, and users in custom global roles with the Acceleration Source Management-Delete permission can delete acceleration sources.
Create an acceleration source
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Plan > Acceleration Source.
On the Acceleration Source page, click New Acceleration Source.
On the New Acceleration Source page, configure the following parameters.
Parameter
Description
Basic information
Acceleration source name
Enter a unique name for the acceleration source, up to 128 characters long.
Code
Enter a unique code for the acceleration source. The code must be up to 64 characters long and can only contain letters, digits, and underscores (_).
Engine type
Select StarRocks, Doris, or SelectDB.
Description (Optional)
Enter a description for the acceleration source, up to 1,000 characters long.
Connection configuration
JDBC URL
Enter the JDBC connection URL, for example,
jdbc:mysql://host:port/dbname.Username, password
Enter the username and password for authentication.
Resource group (Optional)
Select one or more resource groups retrieved from the server.

Acceleration source external catalog
An acceleration source uses an external catalog to accelerate queries. If an external catalog already exists, you must map it to the compute source. Otherwise, the system automatically creates a catalog and manages the mapping.
MaxCompute compute engine
If you select Created: Click Add Mapping, and then select a Compute source and a Catalog.
Compute source: Select the target compute source. The list contains all MaxCompute compute sources in the current tenant, excluding Hologres compute sources.
Catalog: Select the target catalog. The list contains all catalogs of the acceleration source.
If you select Not Created, select the compute sources to accelerate. Hive Metastore (HMS) must be enabled for these sources. Query acceleration fails if an SQL statement includes a table from a non-accelerated compute source.
Compute source: Select one or more compute sources. The list contains all MaxCompute compute sources in the current tenant, excluding Hologres compute sources.
MaxCompute quota: Specify the quota name, which can be up to 128 characters long. The default is
pay-as-you-go. You can find the quota name in the MaxCompute Console on the Workspace > Configuration Management page.
Creation details
NoteThe creation details appear only after you select Not Created for Acceleration source external catalog and then click Create External Catalog.
The creation details list shows the Compute Source Name (for the MaxCompute compute engine), Status, and Log. Possible statuses are Pending Configuration, Configuring, Configuration Completed, and Configuration Failed. When the status is Configuration Completed or Configuration Failed, you can click View Log in the Log column to view the creation log.
Click Save to save the configuration.
When you select Created for the external catalog, the system verifies that the catalog matches the compute source.
Manage acceleration sources
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Plan > Acceleration Source.
On the Acceleration Source page, the list of acceleration sources shows the name, description, engine type, and creation information for each source.
(Optional) You can enter a keyword in the search box to search for acceleration sources by name, or filter the list by engine type.
Use the options in the Actions column to manage the target acceleration source.
Actions
Description
Edit
Click the
icon in the Actions column of the target acceleration source. On the Edit Acceleration Source page, edit the configuration items and then click Save. The configuration items are the same as those for creating an acceleration source.Delete
Delete a single source: Click the
icon in the Actions column for the target acceleration source.Delete multiple sources: Select the checkboxes of the desired sources, and then click Delete at the bottom of the list.
NoteYou can delete an acceleration source even if it is currently being referenced.
