A virtual dimension logical table is used to standardize dimension objects that do not have specific business entities or a definable timestamp range, such as visitors and URLs. This topic describes how to create a virtual dimension logical table.
Prerequisites
You must create a virtual business object. For more information, see Create and manage business entities.
Step 1: Create a virtual dimension logical table
On the Dataphin home page, choose Develop > Data Development from the top menu bar.
In the top menu bar, select a Project. If your project uses the Dev-Prod mode, also select an Environment.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Standard Modeling > Logical Dimension Table.
In the list of logical dimension tables on the right, click the
New icon.In the Create Dimension Logical Table dialog box, configure the parameters.

Description
Business Object
Select Virtual Object.
Table Type
If you select Virtual Object for Business Object, the table type is automatically set to Virtual Dimension Logical Table. This setting cannot be changed.
Data
Defaults to the business unit associated with the project and cannot be changed.
Data Domain
In the Data section, you can select all subject areas.
Data Timeliness
The data timeliness defines the scheduling type for the logical table node in the production environment. The default value for virtual dimension logical tables is T+1 (daily node).
Logical Table Name
Dataphin automatically populates the logical table name. This parameter cannot be changed. The naming convention is
{Business unit name}.dim_virtual_Custom name.The custom name must follow these rules:
It can contain letters, digits, and underscores (_).
It cannot exceed 64 characters in length.
Chinese Name
The name must follow these rules:
It cannot exceed 128 characters in length.
It can contain any characters.
Description
Enter a brief description of the logical dimension table.
Click OK.
Step 2: Save and submit the virtual dimension logical table
Follow the instructions in the figure to submit the virtual dimension logical table.

If your project uses the Dev-Prod mode, you must publish the logical table to the production environment. For more information, see Manage publish tasks.
