Data standard template library
Dataphin has a built-in library of standard templates. You can use these templates to quickly create data standards, such as lookup tables for human, economic, and regional attributes. This topic describes how to manage the data standard template library.
Permissions
Super administrators and data standard administrators can import lookup tables and lookup table folders.
Procedure
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin home page, choose Administration > Standard.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose General Configurations > Template Library to open the Standard Template Library page.
You can view the lookup table templates in the general template library. The folders on the left include lookup tables for Other, Human Attributes, Economic Attributes, and Regional Attributes. When you select a folder, the list on the right displays the lookup tables in that folder. The list includes the name, number of code values, description, and folder level for each lookup table. You can also click All Lookup Tables to view all lookup tables.
(Optional) You can search for a lookup table template. In the upper-right corner of the Standard Template Library page, enter a keyword from the name, code, or description to perform a global search. Alternatively, enter a keyword in the upper-right corner of the lookup table list to search within the list.
You can perform the following operations on a template.
Operation
Description
Reference
If a lookup table template meets your needs, select the lookup table folder and the lookup tables within it. You can then import them to the lookup table page to get started quickly. For more information, see Import a lookup table from the template library.
View
View the details of the lookup table. The details include basic information and code information.
Download
Download the selected lookup tables to your computer.
Each lookup table is downloaded as a separate .xlsx file. If you export multiple lookup tables at once, they are compressed into a single .zip file.
Import a lookup table from the template library
You can import lookup table definitions from the template library in one of three ways: click the import icon to the right of a lookup table folder, click the Batch Import and Add Lookup Tables button at the bottom of the folder tree, or select the lookup tables to import from the list and click Import in the batch operations area at the bottom. The following table describes the configuration parameters.
In the Batch Import and Add Lookup Tables dialog box, configure the parameters.
Parameter
Description
Lookup Table Template
Select the template that contains the lookup tables you want to import.
Add to Folder
Select the destination folder for the imported lookup tables.
Import Content
Choose whether to also import the lookup table folders. You can select Import Lookup Tables Only or Lookup Tables + Folders.
Import Lookup Tables Only: Adds all selected lookup tables directly into the specified folder. Use this option when the destination folder is already defined.
Lookup Tables + Folders: Adds the selected folders and the lookup tables they contain to the specified destination. The original folder structure is preserved under the destination folder. This option is often used to import all content into the root directory. The import fails if it exceeds the maximum folder depth.
Duplicate Lookup Tables
Configure the policy for handling conflicts when an imported lookup table has the same name as an existing one. You can choose to skip or overwrite.
Skip: If a lookup table with the same name or code already exists in the destination folder, the new table is not imported.
Overwrite: If a lookup table with the same name or code already exists in the destination folder, the existing table is overwritten with the imported one.
Select Lookup Tables by Folder
Select the lookup tables to import by folder.
Click OK to import the lookup tables from the template library.
