This topic describes the resource group configuration page and the management operations supported by resource groups.

Introduction to resource group configuration page

The resource group configuration page primarily consists of the default scheduling cluster (shared resource groups for scheduling), custom resource group list created by the default scheduling cluster, and batch operations.

Description

Operation area

  • Filter: You can filter custom scheduling resource groups by resource group owner or resource group status.

  • Search: You can search for custom scheduling resource groups by entering a resource group name or ID.

  • Create custom resource group: Click +Create Custom Resource Group to open the Create Custom Resource Group dialog box to customize a resource group. For more information, see Create a custom resource group.

  • Refresh: Refreshes the usage of the current tenant and resource groups under the tenant.

Default scheduling cluster: Shared resource groups for scheduling

Includes current CPU/memory allocation value and available CPU/memory.

  • Current CPU/memory allocation value: Displays the total CPU/memory actually allocated to the current Dataphin instance.

  • Available CPU/memory: The available CPU and memory for the current tenant, which is determined by the data processing unit (DPU) specification when purchasing the Dataphin instance. For more information, see Purchasing guide--Fully managed.

Resource group list

The resource group list contains shared resource groups for scheduling and custom resource groups, displaying the name, owner, resource range settings, current resource usage, status, description, scenarios, last updated by/time, and supported management operations of the resource groups.

  • Resource range settings: The configurable range of the resource group, not the actual allocation value.

  • Current allocated resources: The actual allocated resources of the current resource group.

  • Status: Includes three states: normal, disabling, and disabled.

    • Normal: The resource group can be used normally.

    • Disabling: When disabling a resource group, if there are instances with running status of Running and Waiting For Scheduling Resources in the current resource group, the resources of the resource group will not be released immediately. Instead, they will be released after the instances finish running. During this waiting period, the status of the resource group is Disabling. You can click image to view the details of instances with running status of Running and Waiting for scheduling resources in the current resource group.

    • Disabled: The resource group cannot be used. The resources of a disabled resource group will be released and can be allocated to other resource groups.

Supported operations include editing, disabling, enabling, and deleting resource groups.

  • Edit: Click image to edit the current custom resource group. Only resource groups in normal and disabled states support editing. Resource groups in the Disabling state do not support editing.

    Note
    • Only super administrators, system administrators, and owners of each resource group can modify the configuration of custom resource groups.

    • Editing a custom resource group does not support modifying the Scenario of the resource group.

  • Disable: Click image to disable the current custom resource group. Only custom resource groups in normal state can be disabled.

    • Offline task scenario

When you disable a custom resource group, if there are tasks that are waiting for schedule resources and running, you cannot immediately disable and release resources. You can choose to wait for the tasks to complete before releasing resources or terminate all tasks with one click and release resources immediately.

      • Wait for tasks to complete before releasing (recommended): The resource group will change to Disabling state, during which no new tasks will be dispatched to the current resource group. After the tasks in the resource group are completed, it will change to the disabled state and release resources.

      • Terminate all tasks with one click and release immediately: Perform batch termination operations on tasks (waiting for scheduling resources, running) that have been dispatched to the current resource group. After all instances have released resources, the resource group changes to the Disabled state.

        Important

To ensure data security and normal business operation, please confirm whether it will affect downstream business use or data accuracy before performing this operation.

    • Real-time task scenario

When disabling a custom resource group, if there are Session clusters in the resource group or it is referenced by real-time tasks, the resource group cannot be disabled and resources cannot be released immediately. You can delete the Session clusters or real-time tasks first and then perform the disable operation.

  • Enable: Click image to enable the current custom resource group. Only custom resource groups in disabled state support enabling. When enabling, you need to reapply for the configured resource quota. If the remaining allocable resources are less than the resource percentage configured for the resource group, the enabling will fail, and you need to modify the resource configuration before enabling again. During the enabling process, the corresponding resource percentage needs to be allocated from the tenant default resource group. If the resources of the tenant default resource group are already occupied by instances, you need to wait for the occupied resources to be released before it can take effect.

  • Delete: Click image to delete the current custom resource group. Only custom resource groups in disabled state can be deleted. After deleting a resource group, to ensure stable task operation, please promptly modify projects that have set the current resource group as the default resource group.

Batch operations

You can perform batch enable and disable operations on resource groups.
