Logon security settings
Configure session expiration and automatic logout upon browser closure to enhance the security of the self-built account system.
Prerequisites
You can configure logon security settings when using the Dataphin self-built account system.
Permission description
Only super administrators and system administrators can modify logon security settings.
Procedure

Navigate to the top menu bar of the Dataphin home page and select Management Center > System Settings.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Logon Settings > Logon Security Settings.

On the Logon Security Settings page, click the Session Security Settings or Password Security Settings area Edit icon to adjust the respective settings.

Session Security Settings
Parameter
Description
Automatically Log Out When The Browser Is Closed
When enabled, the account is automatically logged out when the browser is closed.
Session Timeout Policy
If no page is refreshed or opened within the specified duration, the system automatically logs out the current account.
The default duration is set to 2 hours but can be adjusted from 15 minutes to 24 hours.

Password Security Settings
Parameter
Description
Password Validity Period
How long the user account password remains valid.
By default, the expiration is set to30 days, but you can adjust this between0 to 365 days. Setting it to0 indicates that the password will never expire. Users will receive a prompt to change their password 3 days before its scheduled expiration.
Maximum Number Of Failed Login Attempts Before Locking
How many failed login attempts with an incorrect password are allowed within one hour.
The default setting is5 times, but it can be adjusted from3 to 10 times.
Account Lock Duration
How long the account remains locked after reaching the maximum number of failed login attempts.
The default timeout is set to15 minutes, but it can be adjusted to any duration between15 and 60 minutes.
