Metadata warehouse sharing model
The metadata warehouse sharing model provides stable, standardized access to open metadata tables derived from Dataphin's internal system metadata. Use this metadata for secondary development to meet downstream requirements, or to analyze data warehouse tasks at a granular level for optimized decision-making.
Limit
The metadata warehouse sharing model requires a configured compute engine for the metadata warehouse tenant.
Use cases
-
Reduce development costs: Dataphin contains over 10 complex metadata databases. The sharing model provides a simplified, unified view that reduces the cost and complexity of analyzing or performing secondary development with Dataphin metadata.
-
Improve system stability: Directly querying the internal metadata database can degrade Dataphin performance. The sharing model provides a safe access layer that isolates your queries from core system operations.
-
Ensure stable output: Dataphin's internal metadata schema may change during product upgrades. The sharing model provides a consistent, stable schema that prevents downstream tasks from failing due to unexpected changes.
Storage method and data freshness
The sharing model consists of physical tables generated by processing and aggregating system metadata from Dataphin and its compute engine. These tables are stored in a dedicated project within the metadata warehouse tenant and updated on a T+1 basis.
Access the metadata warehouse sharing model
To access the metadata warehouse sharing model, use an integration task to synchronize the required tables from the metadata warehouse tenant's compute source to your business tenant's compute source. For details, see .
