A layer node is a core widget in the blueprint editor that defines and manages layer properties for a visualization project. You can configure layer styles, interaction logic, and data associations to create dynamic visualizations.

Prerequisites

After you create a data dashboard, you can create a PC dashboard from a template, create a data dashboard from a blank canvas, or generate a PC dashboard using AI.

Access a layer node

  1. Access the DataV console.

  2. On the All Applications page, hover over the target dashboard, and click Edit.

  3. On the dashboard editor page, click the {AD873037-9EA0-4A33-B42B-33F18C7AE3DD} icon in the top menu bar to open the blueprint editor. The Layer Node Configuration pane appears on the left of the main canvas by default.

When you add a widget to the canvas editor, the Blueprint Editor > Layer Nodes list updates to show the widgets on the dashboard. To configure interactions between widgets, drag them to the main canvas of the blueprint editor.

Before you configure layer nodes, familiarize yourself with the layout and operations of the blueprint editor.
