Create an application

Procedure

1. Log in to the DataV-TwinFabric console.

2. On the Twin Authoring tab, click Create Application.

3. In the Create Application dialog box, enter an application name, select an application type, and click OK.

4. The newly created twin application appears in the application list.

Choosing an application type

TwinFabric provides two application types, Sphere and Plane, for different business scenarios. Use the following questions to select the correct type:

1. Does your application render the Earth or its atmosphere in a way that makes distant views appear curved or spherical?

   • If yes, select the Sphere type.

   • If no, continue.

2. Does your application's logic or data involve a geographic information system (GIS) or geographic data?

   • If yes, continue.

   • If no, select the Plane type.

3. Does the data from the GIS include geometric information, such as 2D tiles or 3D tiles?

   • If yes, continue.

   • If no, select the Plane type.

4. Check the reference system of the 2D or 3D tiles.

   • If it uses a spherical reference system, select the Sphere type.

   • If it uses a planar reference system, select the Plane type.
