Business assets are an enterprise's core, high-quality, and high-value data assets. They include all data assets under a tenant, such as tables and scheduling tasks. You can manage and govern these assets by using tags and categories.
Features
The data asset governance feature in DataWorks provides capabilities for managing business assets. By integrating with asset units, you can classify, manage, and govern data assets such as tables and scheduling tasks to ensure the high quality and availability of your business assets.
Limitations
Only DataWorks Enterprise Edition supports this feature.
Go to business assets
Go to the Data Asset Governance page.
Log on to the DataWorks console. In the top navigation bar, select the desired region. In the left-side navigation pane, choose . On the page that appears, click Go to Data Asset Governance.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose to go to the Business Asset page.

On the Business Asset page, you can view business assets of the following types: Table, scheduling Tasks, Model, and Metric.
NoteYou can search for business assets to view or govern them by using various conditions, such as Scope, Asset Name/ID, Label, and Owner.
Set tags
On the Business Asset page, you can configure tags for Table, scheduling Tasks, Model, and Metric assets to simplify classification and queries. To manage tags centrally, see Tag management.

On the Business Asset page, find the target asset based on your search criteria.

Click the
button in the Tag column for the target business asset to add, edit, or delete tags.-
Add/Edit tags: The following table describes how to add and edit tags.

Tag Key
A custom tag key. You can attach a maximum of 20 tags to an asset, and each tag key must be unique.
Tag Value
A custom tag value.

Remove tags: On the tag editing page, click the
icon next to a tag to remove it.Some system-attached tags cannot be removed.

You can click the Configure Tag button below the list of business assets to Overwrite or Append tags for assets in bulk.
Set categories
On the Business Asset page, you can associate business assets, such as Table, TasksModel, Metric, and Metric assets, with categories. After you associate the assets, you can select different asset units from the drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the page. You can also select a business asset perspective and a directory from the left-side pane to view and govern the target assets.

On the Business Asset page, find the target asset based on your search criteria.

In the Actions column of the target business asset, click Edit Category to Add, Edit, or Delete categories for the business asset.

Select the asset unit of the workspace that contains the resource.
Category
Select an asset category for the business asset from the drop-down list.
Publishing Status
Set the publishing status of the business asset.
NotePublishing a business asset makes it visible to all members within the tenant.

Delete an asset unit: In the Edit Category dialog box, click the Delete button next to an asset unit.

You can click the Edit Category button below the list of business assets to edit categories for multiple assets in bulk. However, saving the changes overwrites all previously selected categories.
Governance operations
On the Business Asset page, you can perform operations such as graceful undeployment and create a data governance plan for Table and Scheduling Tasks assets to improve the quality and efficiency of business asset governance.

On the Business Asset page, find the target asset based on the configured asset unit and search criteria.

Click the button in the Actions column of the target business asset to perform a graceful undeployment.
You can click the Resolve button below the list of business assets to create a data governance plan or perform a graceful undeployment for the selected assets.
View assets
On the Business Asset page, if you have configured asset units for your assets, you can use the Asset Unit drop-down list in the upper-left corner of the Business Asset page to select different asset units, switch the category perspective, and select a category to view all business assets in that category. Additionally, you can use tags and other search criteria to find your target asset more quickly.
Additionally, you can click the View Details button in the Actions column to go to the asset details page. On this page, you can view the asset's Base Attributes and Property Details, and perform governance on the Governance Optimization tab. On the Association Information tab, you can view the asset's Output Nodes and Associated Baselines. You can also view governance operation records on the Event Records tab.
