This topic describes the basic workflow for using a Dedicated Host (DDH) and helps you get started.
Preparations
- Register an Alibaba Cloud account and complete identity verification. For more information, see Alibaba Cloud account registration process.
- This tutorial shows you how to create a pay-as-you-go instance.To activate pay-as-you-go Elastic Compute Service (ECS) resources, your Alibaba Cloud account balance and coupons must have a combined value of at least CNY 100.00. To top up your account, see How to Top Up.
Workflow
To use a DDH, you must first create the DDH and then create an ECS instance on it. The following figure shows this workflow.
- Preparations
Before you use a DDH, you must register an Alibaba Cloud account and complete the required account information.
- Create a DDH
A DDH is a cloud host with physical resources that are used exclusively by a single tenant. After you create a DDH, you gain exclusive access to all of its physical resources.
- Create an ECS instance on a DDH
You can create ECS instances on a DDH and then deploy your services on the instances. This provides a dedicated physical server and exclusive access to physical resources, such as CPUs, memory, and network interface controllers (NICs), for improved security.
