Dedicated hosts are billed for computing resources — vCPU, memory, and local disks (local SSD type only).
Two billing methods are available: subscription and pay-as-you-go.
| Subscription | Pay-as-you-go | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Stable, long-term workloads | Short-term or variable workloads |
| Billing unit | Month or year (prepaid) | Second (billed hourly) |
| ECS instances on host | — | Pay-as-you-go only |
Subscription
Billing starts at the moment of purchase and ends at 00:00:00 (UTC+8) the day after the expiration date. The billing cycle is measured in seconds.
Example: A one-month subscription purchased at 13:23:56 on March 12, 2018 expires at 00:00:00 on April 13, 2018.
For dedicated host types and their pricing, see Dedicated host types.
Pay-as-you-go
Billing starts when the dedicated host is created and stops when it is stopped or released. Resources are metered in seconds, and bills are generated hourly.
The minimum charge per lifecycle is USD 0.01. If total usage falls below that, you are charged USD 0.01.
On a pay-as-you-go dedicated host, you can only create pay-as-you-go ECS instances. Converting those instances to subscription is not supported.
For instructions on releasing a host, see Release a dedicated host.
