You can use roles to manage permissions for workspaces and their task flows. This topic describes the permission model for workspaces.
Roles and permissions
The following symbols are used in the table:
✔️: The permission is supported.
❌: The permission is not supported.

Workspace administrator: The user who creates a workspace is the administrator by default. Data Management (DMS) administrators and DBAs can add other workspace administrators. For more information, see Edit workspace members.
Workspace member: Only a workspace member can be an owner or a developer of a task flow. For more information, see Edit workspace members.
Task flow owner: The user who creates a task flow is the owner by default. To change the owner of a task flow, see Edit task flow members.
Task flow developer: For more information about how to edit task flow developers, see Edit task flow members.
NoteA task flow developer performs a dry run as the task flow owner.
DMS administrator or DBA: To view your system role in DMS, see View your system roles.
Edit workspace members
- Log on to the DMS console V5.0.

In the top navigation bar, choose .
NoteIf you use the DMS console in simple mode, move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose . In the Operation column for the target workspace, click Manage.
In the lower-left corner of the page, click the Workspace Members tab.
Add or remove workspace members.
Add a workspace member
NoteTo add a workspace administrator, the following conditions must be met:
Your role in DMS is administrator or DBA.
The target user is the owner of the test and production databases for the workspace.
Click Add Member.
In the Add Workspace Member dialog box, search for and select the target user.
Select Administrator or Member as the role for the user.
Click Confirm.
Remove a workspace member
In the Operation column for the target member, click Remove and then click Confirm.
Edit task flow members
- Log on to the DMS console V5.0.

NoteIf you use the DMS console in simple mode, move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose . In the Operation column for the target workspace, click Enter Workspace.
In the navigation pane on the left, double-click the target task flow to open its details page.
At the bottom of the page, click the Developers tab.
Add or remove task flow developers, or change the task flow owner.
Add a task flow developer
Click Add Member.
In the Add Task Flow Member dialog box, search for and select the target user.
NoteOnly workspace members appear in the user list.
Click Confirm.
NoteA task flow developer performs a dry run as the task flow owner.
Removing a member from a space
Select the target developer, click Remove and then click Confirm.
Change the task flow owner
In the Operation column, click Change Owner.
In the Change Role dialog box, search for and select the target user.
Click Confirm.
