Bind or unbind clusters
You must bind a dns cluster to a Simple Log Service cluster to collect resolution logs, generate visual reports, and trigger alert notifications.
-
dns cluster: A cluster that consists of a management agent service and DNS service nodes.
-
Simple Log Service cluster: A cluster that collects resolution logs and alert information from DNS service nodes in the bound dns cluster.
Bind a dns cluster
Procedure
-
Go to the Alibaba Cloud DNS - On-premises DNS console.
-
Click the bind icon next to All Clusters.

-
In the Cluster Settings dialog box, select the dns clusters to bind, and then click OK.
-
Once the binding is complete, the Service Status for the DNS and management agent services in the corresponding dns cluster changes from Unbound to Available.
Unbind a dns cluster
Procedure
-
Go to the Alibaba Cloud DNS - On-premises DNS console.
-
Click the bind icon next to All Clusters.

-
In the Cluster Settings dialog box, remove the dns clusters you want to unbind, and then click OK.
-
Once the unbinding is complete, the Service Status for the DNS and management agent services in the corresponding dns cluster changes from Available to Unbound.
Manage clusters
Add a cluster
-
If your business spans multiple regions, you can add multiple dns clusters to deploy DNS services in each region.
-
You cannot add Simple Log Service clusters. You can only modify them.
Procedure
-
Go to the Alibaba Cloud DNS - On-premises DNS console.
-
Click the add icon next to All Clusters.

-
In the Add a DNS Cluster dialog box, enter a Cluster Name and click OK to add the dns cluster to the list.
Delete a cluster
-
You can only delete dns clusters. You cannot delete Simple Log Service clusters, but you can modify them.
-
You cannot delete the default dns cluster created by the system. The system identifies this cluster by its internal ID, so renaming it does not allow deletion.
Procedure
-
Go to the Alibaba Cloud DNS - On-premises DNS console.
-
Click the delete icon next to the dns cluster.
-
In the Reminder of Deleting a Cluster prompt, click OK to delete the cluster.
WarningBefore you delete a dns cluster, you must remove all its nodes.
-
When you remove the last node from a dns cluster, the system automatically disassociates all domain names from that cluster.
-
Deleting a dns cluster also unbinds it from the O&M cluster.
-
Modify a cluster
You can rename any cluster for easier identification and management.
Procedure
-
Go to the Alibaba Cloud DNS - On-premises DNS console.
-
Click the edit icon next to the cluster.
-
In the dialog box that appears, enter a new name and click OK to save the change.
