Preparations

This topic describes the preparations that are required before you use Database Gateway.

Procedure

Make sure that you have an Alibaba Cloud account. If you do not have an account, see Alibaba Cloud Account Registration If you already have an account, skip this step.
Ensure that the machine that hosts the gateway can access the public network.
Note Database Gateway (DG) has low resource consumption and no strict configuration requirements. A machine with 1 Core and 2 GB of memory is recommended. DG supports the Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
Log in to the Database Gateway console with your Alibaba Cloud account.
Note All operations in the console can also be performed using the software development kit (SDK) or an API.
If this is your first time using Database Gateway, read and agree to the Database Gateway Terms of Service, and then click Enable Now.
A message appears indicating that Database Gateway is enabled. Click Management Console.
