Which promotional orders are eligible for rebates?
Starting April 1, 2025, the Cloud Ambassador program will include rebates for new product customers. The commission rate is up to 15% on a new product customer's first purchase order and on subsequent upgrade or renewal orders for that product.
The commission rate is up to 45% on a new user's first purchase and any subsequent new purchases, upgrades, or renewals. This rate also applies to new purchases, upgrades, or renewals made by a dormant user.
New user: An Alibaba Cloud member who has no purchase record for a paid cloud product on the official Alibaba Cloud website. Creating a new account does not qualify an individual as a new user.
Existing customer: An Alibaba Cloud member who has a purchase record of a paid cloud product. If a new customer is referred by an existing customer and places a pay-as-you-go order, the new customer is no longer eligible for first-purchase benefits. Accounts under the same real-name identity with a purchase record are also considered existing customers.
Dormant user: An existing user with no active products or purchase records in the last 12 months.
New platform customer: An Alibaba Cloud customer who has no purchase record for a paid cloud product on the official Alibaba Cloud website. Creating a new account does not qualify an individual as a new customer.
New product customer: An Alibaba Cloud customer who purchases a specific paid cloud product for the first time.
First purchase order: The first order placed by a new user on Alibaba Cloud.
New purchase order: An order placed by a new user after their first purchase.
Upgrade order: An order placed by a new user to upgrade a product or service from their first Alibaba Cloud purchase.
Renewal order: An order placed by a new user to renew a product after their first purchase.
Product first purchase order: An existing user's first order for a specific paid cloud product.
Product first purchase upgrade: An order from an existing user to upgrade a specific paid cloud product purchased for the first time.
Product first purchase renewal: An order from an existing user to renew a specific paid cloud product purchased for the first time.
