A security group is a virtual firewall that uses stateful inspection and packet filtering to create security domains in the cloud. You can add security group rules to allow or deny public and private network access for ECS instances in the security group.

Prerequisites

Before you create a security group, you must create a VPC and a vSwitch.

Procedure

  1. On the Create Cluster page, click the Create Security Group link. The Security Groups page opens in Resource Management. Click Add.

  2. In the Add Security Group dialog box, enter a Name and Description, and then click OK.

    • Name: The name must be 2 to 128 characters long. It can contain letters, digits, hyphens (-), and periods (.). It must start with a letter.

    • Description: The description must be 2 to 256 characters long. It cannot start with http:// or https://.
