SOFAStack provides a managed container application service based on Kubernetes. This service seamlessly connects to Alibaba Cloud, bare metal servers, and other Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms, such as OpenStack. For different platforms, the service provides storage and network plugins that comply with the Container Storage Interface (CSI) and Container Network Interface (CNI) standards. It uses the Open Service Broker standard to connect to third-party services, such as databases, cache services, and Server Load Balancer.

In addition to industry-standard cloud-native capabilities, the product provides finance-grade release and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) features. These features include ordered and non-disruptive release policies, batch release and O&M for large-scale distributed systems, and built-in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery topologies based on data centers or deployment units. It also integrates the real-time monitoring capabilities of SOFAStack.

You can access the container application service through its console or the standard Kubectl tool from Kubernetes. Third-party products can also integrate the service's capabilities through its OpenAPI or the standard Kubernetes API to create various user solutions.
